Sound research

In this opening sequence the sound starts off with really intense dramatic music the music is very dark and makes the audeince wonder what is going on, this is a good use of non- diegetic sound as it adds enigma. The music then begins to get louder and louder as the camera glides across the water. We are shown some shots of cars driving fast and we can also here the diegetic sound from the cars. We then hear the bullets being pulled out, this almost sends shivers down your spine and would make the audience wonder what is happening. The music gets more louder and higher pitched as it gets closer to the bridge which would make the audience be on the edge of there seat as this signifies that somthing is about to happen. The screen goes black for a few second and then you hear a gun clicking that's when the music gets even more higher pitched until it stops and you hear the diegetic noise of the car being driven fast, we then hear loud gunshots and the screeching of tires. The music then shins again once they leave the tunnel, the music becomes fast paced signifying the chase scene.

Audience Research

We briefed our primary audience of teenage boys about our ideas for our film. Overall they really liked our idea and liked our creative thinking, however they thought that the idea was quite unrealistic and unsure if it would actually be believable. We also found out that our target audience preference of film genre is mostly comedy and action, we were satisfied by that result as our film is an action film. Most of our audience said that they would go to watch our film in the cinema but would not recommend it to friends after they had watched it and made sure it was a good film. This audience research has been very helpful for us as it has made us understand our target audience more. Our secondary target audience is women aged 14- 30.

Opening Sequence Research- Batman Begins

The scene starts with a loud bang showing the Warner Bros. Pictures logo and then showing the DC comics logo, the screen then goes black and you can hear a high pitched noise which is quite unfamiliar at first until you see loads of bats flying to form the shape of the batman logo. It then cuts to a track shot of the children running with very intense music as though to tell the audience that something is going to happen this also makes the audience feel uneasy about the scene which is good because it gets them interested into the film. We decided that we would use sound slightly similarly, in a sense of making them feel uneasy by using slow sad music. You then see the children playing with each other and the boy runs off, the girl follows and the boy ends up falling into a ditch, the girl runs off and calls for help when a swarm of bats fly at the main character Bruce, this is an important part of the film as it is what led him to become Batman. This is similar to our Opening Title sequence as in ours, our main character gains his powers.
